Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a form of therapy that helps individuals learn new skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and create a more fulfilling life. The therapy is based on the dialectical principle of finding balance between acceptance and change.
This is a 12-week group with the following focus areas:
- Weeks 1-5: Acceptance skills, including mindfulness and crisis skills
- Weeks 6-12: Change skills, including emotion regulation and communication skills
Commitment to consistent practice of skills in-between sessions will help to build mastery of the skills provided. By the end of the session, you will gain a variety of tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience and manage distressing emotions more effectively.
Facilitated by Dr. Sara Sorci Steele, PsyD
This is a 12-week group held Tuesdays at 4-5:30 p.m.
